Bio:

Juan smiles as he stares at the camera.

Juan Gutierrez is a Los Angeles-based photographer, journalist, content writer, and editor, with a deep expertise in the fields of wellness, travel, music, and culture.

Juan has worked as a professional art and culture writer for over a decade. He got his start at LA Weekly as an intern after sending an unsolicited email in 2013 asking them to hire him so he could get college credit. He had his first by-line next to Henry Rollins's in LA Weekly's print edition, Vol. 35, No. 39. After OC Weekly, he landed at Flood Magazine and founded his music blog, JJ Blogazine, where he has been writing about music and occasionally taking photos of live concerts ever since

Juan has a bachelor's degree in creative writing from Cal State Long Beach, a copyediting certification from UC San Diego, and a digital marketing certification from UC Berkeley.

When Juan is not working, he enjoys the thrill of surfing, the tranquility of reading, the challenge of learning jazz piano, and the over stimulation of watching too many video essays on YouTube.
